Robert Hugh Green, 79 of Abingdon, VA passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at his home in Abingdon, VA. He was born in Damascus, VA on March 22, 1940, a son of the late David Hill Green and Sarah Mina Crosswhite Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Dean Green, Billy Wayne Green and John "Johnny" Roger Green; four sisters, Bernice Green, Anna Lou Anderson,Vivian Savannah Parks and Deborah Lynn Green.He was a member of the Teamsters Union and had retired as a woodworker from Big Four Lumber Company. He enjoyed fishing and watching Westerns with his family and friends.Robert is survived by his two brothers, Douglas "Doug" Macarthur Green (Rosie) of Cleveland, OH and Charles "Steve" Stephen Green (Patsy) of Marion, VA; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Garrett Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 pm Thursday, February 13, 2020, with Pastor Rick Shuler officiating. The committal service and inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Damascus Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
