Martha A. "Peggy" Absher

Martha A. "Peggy" Absher, 80, of Troutdale, Virginia passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia. She was a native of Konnarock, Virginia and a daughter of the late Ordley and Jane Blevins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Absher; and a granddaughter, Tonya Cline. Peggy and her husband had lived in Pennsylvania for several years before moving back to Konnarock, Virginia in 1995. She was a member of Azen Baptist Church and enjoyed reading her bible. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Ham and her husband, Freddie, of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia; one son, Daniel Absher and his wife, Cindy, of Troutdale, Virginia; three grandchildren, James Clearo, Jacob Ham, and Miranda Fore and her husband, Jackson; four great grandchildren; one sister, Faye Blevins; one brother, Ed Blevins and his wife, Margaret; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:45 PM Monday, October 22, 2018 at Azen Baptist Church in Konnarock, Virginia. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM Monday at the church with Pastor Jimmy Lundy and Pastor Robert Blevins officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Azen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
