SERVICES WILL TAKE IN THE FARMER MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH, 808 FARMERS STORE ROAD, LANSING, N.C. 28643John Alex Pachey, 75, of Whitetop, Virginia passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia following an extended illness. He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on July 17, 1943, a son of the late Alex Pachey, Jr. and Lillian Susan Pachey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Ann Hamm Pachey; one brother, Henry Graham Pachey. John was a loving Husband, Father and Grandpa. First and foremost, was his love and commitment to the Lord. He was a member of the Farmers Memorial Baptist Church and loved to attend services, worship and enjoy authentic Gospel music. He loved his family deeply. He was a Veteran of the Ohio Air National Guard. He spent time living in Toledo, Ohio and the Roanoke, Virginia area. He owned and operated his own businesses Superior Boring and Tunneling and TBJ, Inc., for several years. He was also an accomplished commercial truck driver. He loved flying aircraft, drag racing, playing guitar and listening to classic country and bluegrass music. John is survived by three sons, Todd J. Pachey of Franklin, Tennessee, Brandon L. Pachey and wife, Megan of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Jason R. Powers and wife, Lisa of Hardy, Virginia; one daughter, Selena Y. Shelton and husband, Tim of Hardy, Virginia; six grandchildren, Cameron Shelton, Jesse Downey, Sarah Pachey, Amy Pachey, Olivia Powers and Braxton Powers; one brother, Doug M. Pachey and wife, Billie; one sister-in-law, Margaret Pachey; and several nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019, in the Farmer Memorial Baptist Church, 808 Farmers Store Road, Lansing, NC 28643 with Rev. Danny Joe Farmer leading. In lieu of flowers and inquires, the family is requesting that donations be made to Farmer Memorial Baptist Church.
