Darlene Stamper

Darlene Stamper, 61, of Damascus, VA passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN. She was born in Newport News, VA on March 21, 1958, a daughter of the late Monte L. Stamper and survived by her mother, Betty Stamper of Damascus, VA. She was a resident of Damascus, VA most of her life and retired from the former McBee Systems and had also worked as a CNA at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Darlene loved studying her Bible and had attended many religious seminars. She enjoyed all her fur baby pets. She was a member of Abingdon United Pentecostal Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister, Cindy Stamper of Damascus, VA; and her seven canine companions, Tig, Biscuit, Miley, Hansel, Gretel, Sophie, and Jellybean. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, May 31, 2019 at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM Friday in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Robert McCann officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, VA.
