Zelma Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Zelma C. Smith, age 82, of Damascus, Virginia, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tennessee. She was a life long resident of Washington County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Robert and Cora Campbell. She was a member of the Damascus Senior Citizens and the Laurel Community Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Smith; and a daughter, Joyce Ann Richardson. She is survived by one daughter, Connie S. Baker and her husband, Dr. James E. Baker, of Damascus, Virginia; one son, John Wayne Smith of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Carlton Baker and Karen Lindsey and her husband, Donnie; and one great granddaughter, Connor Lindsey; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the graveside at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Glade Spring, Virginia with Pastor Billy Rines officiating. Pallbearers will be Carlton Baker, Delmar Richardson, Dr. James Baker, Jerry Hawkins, Corey Ashley, and Donnie Lindsey. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
