Wilma Hendren Lineberry Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Wilma Hendren Lineberry, 78, of Glade Spring, VA passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 in the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN. She was born in Chattanooga, TN on September 21, 1943, a daughter of the late Bruce and Florence Hendren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phil D. Lineberry. She had made her home in Glade Spring, VA for most of her life. Wilma was a graduate of ETSU where she received her Master's Degree in mathematics. She was a retired school teacher working at Holston High School, Abingdon High School, and Virginia Highlands Community College. She loved reading murder novels, watching tv, and was a seamstress. She was a former member of Friendship Baptist Church. Wilma is survived by her three children, Doug L. Lineberry and his wife, Angela, of Greenville, SC, Dale A. Lineberry of Glade Spring, VA, and Debbie L. Gaertner and her husband, Nathan, of Riner, VA; four grandchildren, Jaxen Douglas Lineberrry, Graesyn Amelia Lineberry, Camille Marie Gaertner, and Elise Delaney Gaertner; one sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Ann Pittman and her husband, Mike, of Woodstock, GA; one brother, Alvis Eugene "Gene" Hendren and his companion, Penny, of Old Fort, NC; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the graveside at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, VA with Pastor Vann Seal officiating.
