William Mays

William R. Mays, age 82, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and had lived in Michigan for many years before moving to Shady Valley, Tennessee in 1979. He was a son of the late Raymond and Luna Mays. Mr. Mays was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Michigan. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Mays; and two brothers, Larry Mays and R.E. Mays.  He is survived by one daughter, Robyn Campbell and her fiancé, Robert Seals, of Trade, Tennessee; one son, James Ray Mays and his wife, Kathy, of Davison, Michigan; six grandchildren, Michael Mays and his fiancé, Angela Martin, Amanda Montague and her fiancé, Jeremy McCracken, Malori Gentry and her husband, Justin, Christie Harris and her husband, Jason, Katrina Sharon and her husband, Jason, and Patricia Mays and her fiancé, Lee Hutchinson; and eight great grandchildren.  A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M.
