Viola D. "Peggy" Blevins

Viola D. “Peggy” Blevins, age 89, of Whitetop, Virginia passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at her residence. She was a native of Ashe County, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late Jack and Cora Denny. She had lived in Whitetop, Virginia most of her life and was a member of the Whitetop Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Blevins; two sons, Dean Blevins and Donnie Blevins; and a daughter, June Pruitt. She is survived by four sons, Jackie Blevins and his wife, Flora, of Warrensville, North Carolina, Ronnie Blevins and his wife, Carol, of Marion, Virginia, Roger Blevins of Lansing, North Carolina, and Eugene Blevins and his wife, Darlene, of Jefferson, North Carolina; two daughters, Judy Taylor of Fries, Virginia and Carolyn Webb of Whitetop, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Blevins; a son-in-law, Donnie Pruitt; 19 grandchildren, Velva, Betty, Dwight, Stephanie, Daniel, Jerry, Donnie, David, Angie, Sean, Teresa, Chris, Christina, Selena, Ronald, Carrie, Little Roger, Dustin, and Cody; 34 Great Grandchildren, 8 Great Great Grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Whitetop Baptist Church, Whitetop, Virginia with Pastor Jamie Denny and Rev. T.A. Pennington officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at Whitetop Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M.
