Theodore Mitchell Sturgill

Theodore Mitchell "Ted" Sturgill, 74, of Konnarock, Virginia passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Konnarock, VA on January 7, 1943, a son of the late Franklin Mitchell "Bud" Sturgill and Wadie Shumate Sturgill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Sturgill and Chesil Sturgill; and six aunts and uncles.He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam Era. Ted was a transportation manager of two food distribution agencies, including Albertson's of Portland, Oregon before retiring back to his birth home in Konnarock in 1997.He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Sturgill of Gresham, OR; one son, Derrick Sturgill and his wife, Heather, of Cornelius, OR; his life partner of 23 years, Carol Carter; two grandchildren, William Sturgill and Alexander Sturgill; and an uncle, Nick Sturgill and his wife, Eva, of Damascus, VA; and several nieces and nephews.A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Konnarock, VA.
