Teressa Loretta Garland Hicks., 64, of Goldsboro, NC passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC. She was born on January 25, 1956, a daughter of the late Bige Thomas and Lucy Fay Rhea Garland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Ernest Hicks, Sr.Teressa was a loving and a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a resident of Washington County, VA most of her life, she attended Midway Memorial Chapel, Saltville, VA. Teressa enjoyed crafting, vacationing and spending time with her family and friends.Teressa is survived by two daughters; Tabitha Brown, Donna Gilliam and husband Billy; two sons; Dewayne Hicks and Ernest Hicks Jr. and wife Lela; eleven grandchildren; Nikki Gilliam, Brandi Gilliam, Joshua Ashley, Craig Brown, Joshua Brown, Dustin Hicks, Meadow McCracken, Toby Hicks, Grace Hicks, Heather Malone, Jonathan Malone; twenty three great grandchildren; sister; Kim Ryburn and son Shane, brother; Mark Garland and wife Kim; special friends; Kim and Curt Cook, Betty Gilbert and Kathi Martin.A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the graveside at Holston Conference Cemetery, Emory, VA with Pastor Vann Seal officiating. tabby and family just saw your mothers notice I am so sorry to hear of her passing Teresa was such a good friend to me when I was working at the p/o in meadowview she was such a happy person to be going through all the medical problems that she was going through at the time I so regret not getting back over there after I was retired to see her again sending heartfelt prayers to your family she was a good one
