T. D. Roark, age 68, of Damascus, Virginia, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010 at the home of his daughter, Tammy Fields, in Abingdon, Virginia. He was born in Shady Valley, Tennessee and a son of the late Raymond Ray and Nannie Kilby Roark. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Roark and Daley Roark. He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Fields and her husband, Timothy “Button”, of Abingdon, Virginia; two sons, Tim D. Roark and his wife, Elizabeth, of Bristol, Virginia, and Tony Roark and his wife, Donna, of Bristol, Tennessee; one brother, Doyle Roark and his wife, Lois, of Mountain City, Tennessee; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Monday, August 2, 2010 in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Hutchinson, minister officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Tim D. Roark, Tony Roark, Timothy “Button” Fields, Timothy Fields Jr., Michael Reynolds, and Tyler Roark. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Roark and Lee Allen Roark. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:45 P.M. Monday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. I hope you know that you all are in my prayers. T.D. was always good to me when Tim and I were together and I thought alot of him. He had a big heart.
