Sharon Jones

Sharon Lyn Jones, age 61, of Whitetop, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. She was born in Welch, West Virginia and had lived in Whitetop, Virginia since 1992. She was the daughter of Priscilla Jones of Whitetop, Virginia and the late C. Eugene Jones. She had attended Concord College in Athens, West Virginia and was a member of the Elwood Southern Baptist Church in Elwood, Illinois.  In addition to her mother, she is also survived by one sister, Barbara Jones-Butcher of Whitetop, Virginia; one brother, Darrell Jones of Whitetop, Virginia; and one nephew, Christopher Casey Butcher of Whitetop, Virginia.  The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Flowers are to be omitted and those who wish may send memorial donations to Faith Lutheran Church, 11568 Highlands Parkway, Whitetop, VA 24292 to be given to World Hunger.  Ms. Jones and her family were in the care of Garrett Funeral Home, 203 N.
