Sarah Wood

Sarah Katherine Wood, age 72, of Hudson, Florida, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at her residence in Hudson, Florida. She was a native of Damascus, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Frank and Billie Venable. She had lived in Maryland for several years before moving back to Damascus in 1996. She had lived in Hudson, Florida since 2003. While living in Damascus, she was the owner and operator of the Maple’s Bed and Breakfast. She was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Abingdon, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Judson Wood, and a brother, Sam Venable. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Katherine Wood of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and Judith Lynn McDonald of Potomac, Maryland; three grandchildren, Ashleigh, Samantha, and James; and two nieces and one nephew. A celebration of the life of Sarah Katherine Wood will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 9, 2009 in the Damascus United Methodist Church with The Rev. Katherine Tate officiating. The committal service and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be sent to a church or favorite charity of ones choice.
