Sam Rouse, 79, of Glade Spring, VA passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at his residence. He was born on January 26, 1943, a son of the late Raymond and Lura Rouse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. He was a life long resident of Washington County, VA and retired from Hapco after 25 years of service. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening, and farming. Sam is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Eva Rouse; seven children, Steve Rouse (Gina) of Marion, VA, John Rouse (Stella) of Chilhowie, VA, Melissa Rouse of Glade Spring, VA, Jamie Rouse (Candi) of Marion, VA, Kristie Rouse of Glade Spring, VA, Matthew Rouse (Sandy) of Bristol,VA, and Patrick Rouse of Glade Spring, VA; ten grandchildren, Scott Rouse (Brittany), Courtney Atkins (Andrew), Justin Rouse (Ginny), Kyla Ortiz (Luis), Tyler Rouse, Kaitlyn Rouse, Dylan Rouse, Elainna Armstrong, Destannie Armstrong, and Channing Russell; seven great grandchildren, Brooklynn Bentley, Brayleigh Atkins, Sophia Ortiz, Aubree Russell, Raegan Atkins, Kash Russell, and Isabella Russell; one brother, Jack Rouse of Glade Spring, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at Widener Valley Community Cemetery in Glade Spring, VA. Sam loved to hunt squirrel and rabbit on the Herb DeBusk farms. He helped Elige DeBusk on the farm from the time he was a young lad. He will be missed!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sam was a very special uncle to me. We both shared a love for horses. We had a great time on a trail ride together in the mountains with family and friends. You will be missed Sam
