Rick Thomas

Rick Thomas, 51, of Glade Spring, VA passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 in the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA. He was a life long resident of the Wideners Valley Community born on July 31, 1970, a son of the late Earl Thomas and survived by his mother, Shirley Ann Thomas. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Maggie Thomas and her husband, Venton; and his uncles, Kenny, Bill, and Johnny. Rick was a hard working man. He loved farming and spending time with his "GRAND Babies". He enjoyed fishing, John Deere tractors, and watching his grandkids race dirt bikes and play T-ball. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Thomas; two sons, Dustin Thomas and his wife, Jessi, and Derek Thomas and his wife, Makenzie; five grandchildren, McKinley Thomas, Deacon Thomas, Cambrie Thomas, Ainsleigh Thomas, and Braylien Easterling; two sisters, Tammy Barlow and her husband, Mike, and Jennifer Barlow and her husband, Steve; a special cousin, Heather Rouse and her husband, John, and daughters, Kenzie and Kari; and several other loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone for all their support and prayers. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 pm Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Rush Creek Cemetery with Pastor James Walls and Pastor Bill Morefield officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
