Rev. John Wesley "Jack" Kincheloe, age 71, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born October 24, 1934 in Bristol, Virginia and had lived in many locations throughout Virginia and Tennessee and made his home in Abingdon, VA since 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Marvin Smith and Mattie Graybeal Kincheloe. He was a United Methodist minister serving churches for twenty-four years from the Holston Conference including Abingdon, Big Stone Gap and Kingsport. He served as a volunteer at Johnston Memorial Hospital and his charge conference was at Abingdon United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, Virginia Ann Taylor Kincheloe; one daughter, Johnna Ferguson, of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Kitty Park, Cleveland, TN; two nieces, Debbie Smith and her husband, Wayne, Athens, TN and Gayle Stevison and her husband, Steve, Old Fort, TN; one nephew, Scott Kiser, Bristol, TN; three great nephews, Jonathon Stevison, Bobby Smith, and Brandon Kiser; two great nieces, Nikki Smith, and Taylor Kiser; a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Herbert Toon; and several close first cousins. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, July 15, 2006, in the Damascus United Methodist Church with Rev. Jane Ayers, Rev. Walter Weikel, and Rev. Nicole Hill officiating. The committal service and interment will follow in the Holston Conference Cemetery, Emory,VA. Pallbearers will be Brandon Kiser, Scott Kiser, Herbert Toon, Jim Bishop, Mike Rush, John Orr, and Jerry Orr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon Stevison, Bobby Smith, Paschal Grindstaff, Dr. Peyton Rowlett and the ministers of the Holston Conference United Methodist Church and employees and volunteers of Johnston Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Abingdon United Methodist Church, 101 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA 24210. Damascus United Methodist Church, P. O.
