Rev. Garney U. Trivett, age 94, of Elkton, Maryland went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 10, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Konnarock, Virginia on March 2, 1917, and was the son of the late General and Rutha Blevins Trivett. Garney was a preacher and an author. He was devoted to his family and loved his grandchildren. The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice for their devotion and care.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myrtle King Trivett of Elkton, Maryland; a daughter, Rachel Jones of Elkton, Maryland; a brother, Wilson Trivett; two grandchildren, Ada and Maurice Jones; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel.  The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 17, 2011 in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Tenney officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at Azen Cemetery in Konnarock, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Friday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to Northern Chesapeake Hospice Foundation, c/o R.T.
