View this VideotributePeggy Chambers Brown, age 88, formerly of Damascus, Virginia passed away on Friday, March 25, 2005, at Henrico Doctors' Hospital, Richmond, Virginia. She was a native of Bristol, Tennessee and had lived in Damascus, Virginia for most of her adult life, before moving to Richmond, Virginia to live with her daughter. She was the daughter of the late John B. Chambers and Huldah Henninger Chambers. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Brown, and two sisters, Sue C. Rogers and Virginia C. Lindsey. She was a member of the Damascus United Methodist Church and attended Trinity United Methodist Church after moving to Richmond, Virginia. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Brown Bush and her husband, Norman, of Richmond, Virginia; one grandson, Jason Bush and his wife, Rebecca, of Winston Salem, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Jennifer Michelle Bush, of Richmond, Virginia; three nephews, Thomas King Rogers, Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of Bristol, Tennessee, Dr. J. William Rogers and his wife, June, of Winston Salem, North Carolina, and Jerry Lee Lindsey and his wife, Brenda, of Richmond, Virginia; and several great nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2005, in the Damascus United Methodist Church with Rev. Jane Ayers officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Thomas King Rogers, III, Timothy Brown, Jack Stout, Hunter Faris, Paul Lethcoe, and John Henderson. Honorary pallbearers Paschal Grindstaff, Lawrence Lewis, and David Cline. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Damascus United Methodist Church P. O. Box 358, Damascus, Virginia 24236. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Monday, March 28, 2005, at Garrett Funeral Home.
