Maudie Richardson

Maudie Ann Richardson, age 88, of Damascus, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2004 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia. She was a native of Ashe County, North Carolina, lived in Green Cove, Virginia before moving to Damascus, Virginia, where she lived most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Ambrose and Minnie Rhoten Lewis. Mrs. Richardson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Damascus, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor J. Richardson, one daughter, Cathy Ann Richardson, two sons, Patrick F. Richardson and Ricky Richardson, six brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jo Warden, of Abingdon, Virginia, and Mary E. Hockett, of Marion, Virginia; three sons, Paul J. Richardson, of Johnson City, Tennessee, Reggie A. Richardson, of Bent Mountain, Virginia, and Ralph C. Richardson, of Knoxville, Tennessee; thirty-two grandchildren; fifty-three great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P. M. Saturday, December 4, 2004 at the Garrett Funeral Home with Rev. Harlan Greer officiating. The committal service and interment will be 1:30 P. M. Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Green Cove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 P. M. Saturday prior to the funeral service at Garrett Funeral Home.
