Mary McAllister Howe

Mary Ilene McAllister Howe, age 70, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was a native of Washington County, Virginia and a daughter of the late Guy and Lucy McAllister. She had lived in Michigan for twenty years prior to moving to Elizabethton, Tennessee in 2008. She was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jack McAllister, Tom McAllister, and Harry McAllister. She is survived by her husband, Ronald D. Howe; two daughters, Marylynn Ingram of Hampton, Tennessee and Ladonna Hinkle of Elizabethton, Tennessee; one son, Steve Hinkle and his wife, Penny, of Elizabethton, Tennessee; six sisters, Louise McAllister and Hazel Nelson, both of Jonesboro, Tennessee, Nancy Gregory of Damascus, Virginia, Sharon Scott and Judy Alexander, both of Meadowview, Virginia, and Doris Ann Graybeal of Johnson City, Tennessee; three brothers, Don McAllister of Shady Valley, Tennessee, Bill McAllister of Miami, Florida, and Cecil McAllister of Damascus, Virginia; five grandchildren, Jonah, Stevie, Dustin, John, and Deidra; three great granddaughters, Riley, Baylee, and Cali; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the graveside at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Warren Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Garrett Funeral Home.
