Margaret C. Anderson, age 91, of Damascus, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Smyth County Community Hospital. She was a life long resident of Damascus, Virginia and was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. Anderson, Sr. in 2006. She was a member of the Damascus Senior Citizens and was also a member of the Damascus First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Alice Lee Dennison and her husband, Bill, of Roanoke, Virginia; one son, Arthur E. Anderson, Jr. and his wife, “Corkie”, of Hertford, North Carolina; four grandchildren, two great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the graveside at Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, Virginia with Pastor John Davis, CLP, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P. M. Sorry to hear about your loss. I got to know Margaret in the nursing home when my mother was in for therapy. She was a loving woman. I got her a stuffed cat and a blanket she was tickled with them. I know she is in a better place. My prayers go to the family.
