Louise Greer

Louise Greer, age 74, of Damascus, Virginia passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Ashe County, North Carolina and moved to Damascus in 1999. She was a daughter of the late Alfonso Greer and Nannie Phillips Greer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Greer. Mrs. Greer was a member of the V. F. W. Post #9830 Ladies Auxiliary in Damascus and the Moose Lodge in Abingdon. She is survived by one daughter, Vickie Pennington and her husband, Gary, of Whitetop, Virginia; two sisters, Virginia Zulenski, of Delaware and Ivalee Dick, of Abingdon, Virginia; two granddaughters, Regina Ragan, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Sonia Ragan, of Sarasota, Florida; one great granddaughter, Nova Segreti, of Sarosota, Florida; two step-grandsons, Ryan and Chris Pennington; four step-great grandchildren, Chris, Cory, Kobe, and Derick Pennington; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 P. M. Sunday, July 30, 2006 at Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, Virginia with Rev. David Trivette and Rev. T. A. Pennington officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Vickie Pennington, 15793 Highlands Parkway, Whitetop, Virginia 24292.
