Larry D. Trent, 64, of Damascus, VA passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA. He was a life long resident of Washington County, VA and was a son of the late Charlie and Elizabeth Trent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Guins. He had worked for Federal Pacific Transformers and enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Larry is survived by his wife of 17 years, Inez Trent; one son, Steven Guins and his companion, Kelley King; three grandchildren, Hayley Guins, Kyle Guins and his wife, Abigail, and Kaitlyn Guins; one great grandson, Phillip Guins; a daughter-in-law, Celeste Burt and her husband, Matt; two sisters, Brenda Taylor and her husband, Shelton, and Jane Craig and her husband, Roger; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Garrett Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayne Dillard officiating.
