Jerry "Junner" Richardson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

God blessed Jerry “Junner” Richardson, 56, of Lenoir, NC with a peaceful passing on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020 at Bristol Memory Care, Bristol, VA. He was born in Abingdon, VA on Dec. 1, 1963, the son of Jerry Ford Richardson of Damascus, VA and the late Betty Beamer Richardson of Lenoir, NC. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by twin grandsons, Jacob and Noah. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Lenoir, NC where he had worked as a lathe operator in furniture manufacturing. He moved to Damascus in June 2019 to live with his Dad after he had suffered a stroke. Jerry loved fishing, flea markets, gun and knife collecting, eating his Aunt Freda’s beans and cornbread, and a huge fan of Appalachian State University. Most of all, Jerry’s biggest enjoyment was spending time with his Dad, brothers and family. Jerry never left without telling his family he loved them. Jerry was greatly loved and will be missed. In addition to his father, Jerry is survived by one son, Adam Ford Richardson (Kirsten); granddaughters Brooklyn and Nova Lynn all of Lenoir, NC; three brothers, Ron Richardson (Jennifer), Lenoir, NC; Rick Richardson (Tanya), and Joe Richardson (Heather), Damascus, VA; special aunts Freda Crabtree (Lee), Damascus, VA and Nita Howard (Bob), Hardy, VA; aunt Trish Akers (Troy), Damascus, VA; nieces Stephanie (David) Williams, Hawaii and Makenzie (Luke) Wampler, Damascus, VA; nephews Casey Richardson Bloomington, Illinois, Tyler Richardson, Lenoir, NC; Derrick, Dylan, Brycen and Brodie Richardson all of Damascus, VA. A special thank you to the staff at Bristol Memory Care and most of all to his special Aunt Freda who loved and cared for him. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Garrett Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM Sunday in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Blevins and Pastor James Oxendine officiating.
