Jack Blevins

Jack E. Blevins, age 68, of Meadowview, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. He was a son of the late Tom and Violet Blevins and a life long resident of Washington County, Virginia. He retired from Columbus McKinnon Corporation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, J. D. Blevins. Mr. Blevins was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife, Dora Mae Blevins; one brother, Fred Blevins, of Damascus, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Patty Blevins, of Meadowview, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 8, 2008, in the Garrett Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Vann Seal officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 9, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Ted Blevins, Lee Gregor, Butch Blevins, Ronnie Blevins, Eugene Blevins and Danny Otey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Blevins, Zack Heath, Danny Thomas, Bobby Miller and James Blevins. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 P.M.
