View this Videotribute Jack L. Arnold, age 73, of Damascus, Virginia, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia and was a son of the late James and Juanita Arnold. Mr. Arnold lived in Damascus, Virginia for many years. He spent over forty years in Europe during his military career in the U. S. Army and served in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer from the U. S. Army in 1968, worked as operation manager with I. T. T. in Ben Haag, Netherlands, and was a member of the V. F. W. Patton-Crosswhite Post #6975 of Bristol. He is survived by his wife, Sharron Arnold; two sons, Richard Arnold and Randy Arnold, both of New Bedford, Massachusetts; one daughter, Amanda Raines, of Damascus, Virginia; one step-son, James Brewer, of Meadowview, Virginia; one step-daughter, Rhonda Breeden, of Cartersville, Georgia; five grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the graveside in Veterans Affairs National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee with the V. A. Chaplain officiating. Military graveside rites will be presented by the V. F. W. Patton-Crosswhite Post #6975 and the Tennessee Army National Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Damascus Volunteer Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 458, Damascus, Virginia 24236 or Damascus Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 426, Damascus, Virginia 24236. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 P. M. Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Garrett Funeral Home.
