Irma C. Jackson

Irma C. Jackson,72, of the Laurel Valley Community in Troutdale, VA passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA. She was born in Konnarock, VA on July 22, 1945, a daughter of the late Robert "Heavy" Blevins and Lorene Blevins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Leonard Lee Jackson, Sr.; one brother, Bobby Blevins; and a special granddaughter, Halee "Bop" Jackson. She had lived in Winston-Salem, NC for many years working as a childcare director for Forsyth Hospital. After her retirement, she moved back to Laurel Valley in 2002. Irma loved to cook and study her bible. She is survived by one daughter, Theresa Jackson; one son, Kenny Jackson; one sister, Patricia Blevins; one brother, Ronnie Blevins; three granddaughters, Ashlee Jackson, Mary Grace Jackson, and Katie Lynn Osborne and her husband, Ryne; two great grandsons, Dylan Scott Jackson and Connor Lee Hayes; a special friend, Samuel Clarke; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Garrett Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Ritchie and Mr. Gordon Taylor officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at McDaniel Cemetery in Konnarock, VA.
