Glenda Sue Jones, age 63, of Damascus, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, Tennessee. She was a life long resident of Damascus, Virginia and was a daughter of the late Paul Jones and Beatrice Robbins. She worked at American Furniture in Marion, Virginia for thirty years before she retired. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Howie Robbins and Bill Jones. She is survived by three sisters, Jovella Wolfe and her husband, Elijah, of Glade Spring, Virginia, Kathy Moore of Damascus, Virginia, and Barbara Hurt and her husband, Jim, of Middletown, Delaware; three brothers, Buddy Jones, Tommy Jones and his wife, Myrtle, and John (Jr.) Robbins and his wife, Gwen, all of Damascus, Virginia; one special aunt, Eva Sturgill and her husband, Nick, of Damascus, Virginia. She was also the beloved Aunt Sue to 12 nieces and 6 nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews; also two special dogs, Nellie and Oscar. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the graveside at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Virginia, with Rev. Gary Ritchie officiating. Pallbearers will be Rob Campbell, Don Blackburn, Rob Morgan, Kathy Campbell, Lisa Blackburn, Jamie Morgan, Kristy Moore, and Kermit Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Sturgill, Elijah Wolfe, Jason Moore, and Roger Milhorne. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Damascus Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 458, Damascus, VA 24236.
