Gladys Parker

View this Videotribute Gladys Greer Parker, age 84, of Damascus, Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park, Florida. She was a native of Johnson County, Tennessee and had lived in Washington County, Virginia most of her life. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy E. Parker, a great grandson, Zachery Lane, two brothers, Chester Greer and Blaine Greer, and two sisters, Nell Briley and Velma Bernardi. She was a member of Damascus United Methodist Church and V. F. W. Post# 9830 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by a son, Steve Parker and his wife, Sandra, of Orange Park, Florida; two grandchildren, Lynette Taliaferro and her husband, Randy, and Anne Lambrecht and her husband Dean; four great grandchildren; Gabrielle, Lacy, Reese, and Griffith; one brother, William Greer and his wife, Florence, of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P. M. Saturday, March 5, 2005 in the Garrett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Bowers officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 2:00 P. M. Sunday, March 6, 2005 at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Jane Ayers officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Damascus V. F. W. Post# 9830 The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 P. M.
