George "June" Owens,Jr. age 74, of Damascus, Virginia passed away Monday, August 28, 2006 at his residence. He was a native of Washington County, Virginia and had lived in High Point, North Carolina for several years before moving to Damascus, Virginia in 1982. He was the son of the late George and Nannie Watkins Owens. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Owens. He is survived by his wife, Helen Owens; one daughter, Jackie Leonard and her husband, Bill, of Damascus, Virginia; one brother, Richard Owens, of Damascus, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the graveside at Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, Virginia with Mr. Wayne Baker officiating.
