Gary L. Talbert

Gary Talbert, age 71, of Meadowview, Virginia passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. He was a life long resident of Washington County, Virginia and was a mechanic and machinist. He was a member of Highpoint Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time working on the old railroad style pocket watches. He is survived by his wife, Linda Talbert; one son, Mark Talbert and his fiancé, Lynn Johnson, of Meadowview, Virginia; one granddaughter, Gracie Talbert; one sister, Nancy Alexander of Bristol, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:45 P.M. Monday, April 7, 2014 in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 P.M. with Pastor Robby Coggins officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Virginia. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
