Fronia Chadwell Whitaker Morris

Fronia Chadwell Whitaker Morris, age 95, of New Tazewell, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia after a short illness. She was a daughter of the late Dalsey and Artimisha Chadwell. She had lived in Claiborne County, Tennessee most of her life and was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Dogwood Home Demonstration Club. She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. Her other careers included hairdresser, nurse, and flee market vendor. Fronia loved to read. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Whitaker; her second husband, Lew Morris; a sister, Sylvia Massengill and her husband, Tip; son-in-law, Bob Gentry; and a grand son-in-law, Mike Collier. She is survived by three daughters, Velma W. Gentry of Portland, Tennessee, Linda W. Garrett of Damascus, Virginia, and Carmen W. Pitts and her husband, Ken, of Seymour, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Rhonda Haynes and her husband, Terry, of Gallatin, Tennessee, Veronica Cleveland and her husband, Jon, of Madison, Tennessee, Bobby Gentry and Vannessa Allbright and her friend, Earnest Anderson, all of Portland, Tennessee, Matthew Garrett and Michelle Woodson and her husband, Adam, all of Damascus, Virginia; five great grandchildren, Colt Collier and his wife, Kassie, Josh Gentry and his wife, Lexie, Scarlett Collier, Caroline Woodson, and Henry Woodson; three Great Great Grandchildren, Dawson Gentry, Jackson Collier, and Deacon Collier; special friends and neighbor, Paul and Barbara Taylor; and several loving nieces and nephews. The visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 6:45 P.M. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell, Tennessee. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M. with the Rev. Dennis Fox officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Cave Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Gentry, Josh Gentry, Colt Collier, Matthew Garrett, Adam Woodson, Terry Haynes, and Jon Cleveland.
