Fred H. Balthazr Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Fred H. Balthazr, 86, of Abingdon, VA passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Choice Health Care in Abingdon, VA. He was born in Konnarock, VA on August 6, 1935, a son of the late Anton and Doris Balthazr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Theresia Steiner Balthazr; a son, Henry Balthazr; and three grandchildren, Mikey Balthazr, Virginia Lowe, and Hank Wright, Jr. He had lived in Washington County, VA most of his life and had worked as a logger, truck driver, and diesel mechanic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Fred enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his children, Allen Balthazr (Dawn), Mickey Balthazr (Dawn), Sheila Blevins, Pam Terry (Kris), and Scotty Balthazr; special grandchildren, Jeremiah Balthazr (Cristina), Kimberly Necessary (Daniel), Timothy Wright (Catina), Christopher Wright, Ashley Blevins, and Brittany Blevins; special great grandson, Jacob Burke; a brother, Earl Lowe; and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor David Critcher officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at Barr Family Cemetery in Konnarock, VA. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
