Frank Sylvester Patrick, 83, of Damascus, VA passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Gaston, NC on January 19, 1938, a son of the late Frank Patrick, Jr. and Dorothy Irene Barbee Patrick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bobby Helms. He had made his home in Damascus, VA for most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam Era and was a former member of the V.F.W. Post 9830. He loved searching for ginseng, fishing, and hunting. Sylvester is survived by two sons, Jeremy McCracken and Rebecca, of Damascus, VA, and Frank Kucki and his wife, Shannon, of Ogden, UT; one daughter, Pamela Patrick of Damascus, VA; ten grandchildren, Devin, Bobbi Ann, Angelika, Allison, Jeremiah, Meadow, Dodger, Waylon, Zach, and Autumn; four great grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Helms of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Bobby Ensley of Mt. Dora, FL; a special friend, Patricia Taylor and her children, Debbie, Bud, Samantha, and Lisa; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Debra McCracken for all her help. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Garrett Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, VA, with Pastor Bill Morefield officiating. pam and family so sorry for your loss sylvester was a very unique personality he served his country well he liked going to yard sales loved arguing with him over the prices also he loved good food he used to in and eat gyros every week when we serving them at quinceys until someone told him it had lamb in it and he never ate another one i just couldn't convince him to do it we went back to fish and shrimp he was so fun to stand and chat with he was a character around our little town he will be greatly missed again prayers for your family
