Elsie Wright Barr

Elsie Wright Barr, age 72, of Damascus, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tennessee. She was a life long resident of Washington County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Walter and Pauline Wright. She retired from Brookmade Hosiery Mill in Damascus and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Barr; one brother, Bert J. Wright; and one sister, Barbara Jane Wright. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ralph Barr; her daughter-in-law, Seon Barr; two granddaughters, Allie Barr and Tiffany Barr; three brothers, J.C. Wright and his wife, Ellen Jo; Lacy Wright and his wife, Betty, and Clifton Wright and Kim; two sisters, Charlotte Stevens and her husband, Charlie, and Kitty Richardson and her husband, Ron; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Sunday, November 4, 2012 in the Riverview Chapel with Rev. Warren Wilson officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 5, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:45 P.M.
