David Clinton Widener, age 72, of Baltimore, Maryland, formerly of Glade Spring, Virginia passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson, Maryland. He was a native of Washington County, Virginia and was a son of the late Joseph and Viola Widener. He had lived in Baltimore, Maryland for most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann German and her husband, Roger, of Gresham, South Carolina; one son, David Scott Widener of Baltimore, Maryland; six grandchildren, Ashley Wolbert, Roger German III, Lexi German, David Widener, Dustin Widener, and Megan Widener; one brother, Joe Widener of Hamstead, Maryland; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. to 1:45 P.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home. The committal service and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
