Conley C. J. Compton

Conley James "C.J." Compton, age 45, of Cana, Virginia, formerly of Chesapeake, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2006, in Chesapeak, Virginia. He was born December 21, 1960, in Montgomery County, Maryland to the late Noah A. Compton and Helen Widener Compton, of Cana, Virginia. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Arida Jane Compton. In addition to his mother, he is also survived by a daughter, Melinda Compton, of South Mills, North Carolina; three sisters, Rita Leonard and her husband, Randy, of Cana, Virginia, Debbie Magness and her husband, John, of Baltimore, Maryland, and Sherry Gribble and her fiancé, Steve Bloxom, of Chesapeake, Virginia; seven brothers, Noah Compton, Jr. and his wife, Beverly, of South Mills, North Carolina, Jerry Compton and his wife, Sue, of Norfolk, Virginia, Steve Compton and his wife, Linda, Cheyene Compton and his wife, Rachel, Carson Compton, Namon Compton, and Bobby Compton, all of Chesapeake, Virginia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the graveside at Rush Creek Cemetery, Glade Spring, Virginia with Rev. Shirley Pauley officiating. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be sent to the Rush Creek Cemetery Fund, c/o Steve Heath, 37055 Rush Creek Road, Glade Spring, VA 24340. The family will receive friends from 1-2 P.M.
