Cleata Lewis Cullop, age 85, of Damascus, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was a life long resident of Washington County, Virginia and was a daughter of the late Luther and Carrie Lewis. She was a member of the Sutherland Community Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Cullop; and two sisters, Velma Hearn and Myrtle Richardson. She is survived by one sister, Isabella Snyder of Aiken, South Carolina; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the graveside at Jackson-Lewis Cemetery in Taylors Valley, Virginia with Pastor Dave Allen and Pastor Mack Harr officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Jackson-Lewis Cemetery Fund, c/o Carl McMurray, 23526 Taylor Valley Road, Damascus, VA 24236 or to Damascus Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Cleata was a special person and friend to me and my late husband,Rev.Wilson Newman,and her late husband Ralph was a special friend too.Cleata and I exchnaged Christmas cards each Christmas Season.I send special words of love to the family.You had a special sister,aunt and etc.May God richly bless you.
