Charlotte Fay Walls

Charlotte Fay Walls, 87, of Troutdale, Virginia passed away, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at her home in Troutdale, Virginia following an extended illness. She was born in Smyth County, VA. on September 10, 1930, a daughter of the late Leander Brooks and Virginia Ross Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Amber C. Walls; three brothers, Frank Brooks, Kyle Brooks, and Howard Brooks; three sisters, Rosa Brooks Sanders, Hazel Moran Blevins and Irene Wall Powell. She was a native of Troutdale, VA. She was a former employee of Hungry Mother State Park and Mr. Casual, Troutdale, VA. She was Member of the Konnarock Community Center for many years. She enjoyed reading, sewing and spending time with her cat Tommy. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Troutdale, VA. Charlotte is survived by one brother-in-law, Lloyd Walls of Konnarock, VA; Tommy the Cat; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to Charlottes personal caregivers, Ruby Johnson, Maria Smith and Alicia Louthian, for all the love and care shown to Charlotte during her illness. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:45 pm, Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 pm, Saturday, April 7, 2018, in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Fritz officiating. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 8, 2018 in Laurel Valley Cemetery, Troutdale, VA. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 pm, Sunday.
