Carolyn Forrester Pruitt, age 64, of Damascus, Virginia, passed away Monday, September 12, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, Tennessee. "May the flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest." She was a native of Damascus, Virginia, and had lived in Hampton, Virginia, for thirty-nine years before moving back to Damascus in 1998. She was a member of the Damascus Senior Citizens and the First Baptist Church. Carolyn enjoyed life, loved working around her home, and her love for her husband, children, and her grandson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Blevins, her daughter, Carolyn Elaine Pruitt, and a brother, David Forrester. She is survived by her loving husband of forty-six years, Clarence E. Pruitt - "Never shall I forget the time I spent with you."; two sons, James Clarence Pruitt and his wife, Candy, and Michael Wayne Pruitt and his wife, Pam, all of Gloucester, Virginia; one grandson, Alan Michael Pruitt, of Gloucester, Virginia; one brother, Freddie Forrester and special friend, Vickie Barber, of Bristol, Tennessee; two sisters, Connie McCrady and her husband, Jack, and Shelby Blevins, all of Damascus, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; her most special friend, Fluffy; and other special friends, Peggy Jones, Jewel Turnmire, Sue Spillers, Toby and Janie Necessary, Gladys Shumate, Garnet and Lura Rogers, Marie Blevins, Jo Anne Viers F.N.P., Dr. Glen Trent, members of the Damascus Senior Citizens, and the class of 1958. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Damascus, Virginia, with Rev. Alan McCullough, Mr. Harley Farmer, and Mr. Garnet Rogers, ministers officiating. The committal service and entombment will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 15, 2005, in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 P.M.
