Carolyn Virginia Garrett Grubb

Carolyn Virginia Garrett Grubb, 84, of Bristol, TN went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 20, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jamie and Mary Garrett, and her brother, Ralph Garrett. Carolyn was retired from Grubb School Pictures after serving 20 years as both owner and photographer. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her favorite things were her grandchildren, cooking and traveling the world with friends. Carolyn was a courageous warrior in her 4 year battle with cancer facing all stages with a determination to win. Her courage and love will be missed. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Grubb; two daughters, Linda Lahr and husband, Steve, of Bluff City, TN, and Georgia Nidiffer and husband, Monne, of Port Orange, FL; one son, Jeff Grubb and wife, Sherry, of Bluff City, TN; two sisters, Barbara DeBusk of Bristol, TN, and Shirley Taylor and husband, Jack, of Abingdon, VA; a sister-in-law, Mona Garrett of Damascus, VA; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Bluff City, TN. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 PM Sunday at the church with Pastor Chase Grubb officiating. The committal service and entombment will follow at Glenwood Mausoleum Chapel in Bristol, TN. Pallbearers will be her grandson: Adam Cross, Brandon Cross, Keegan Lahr, Zachary Lahr, Eric Nidiffer, Phil Pustejovsky, Landon Trivett, and Brett Greene. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wellmont Hospice Homecare, all her friends, and her extended photography family including Jan and Liz for all their prayers and encouragement.
