Carl J. Stanley, 85, of Glade Spring, VA passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the residence of his daughter in Saltville, VA. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, VA born on March 19, 1936, a son of the late Green Williams Stanley and Lora Laken Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Stanley; three brothers, Pete Stanley, Lee Stanley, and Earl Stanley; three sisters, Winnie Williams, Gladys Williams, and Polly Hicks. He was a retired carpenter and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Carl is survived by two daughters, Delores Wilson and Christy Stanley; three sons, Carl Jackson "Jack" Stanley, Carl Anthony "Tony" Stanley, and Carl David Stanley; seven grandchildren, Heather Jessee, Melissa Cleary, Jonathan Stanley, Crystal Grubb, Crystal Stanley, C.J. Stanley, and John Bob Stanley; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Garrett Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am Wednesday at Mock Cemetery in Damascus, VA with Pastor Jamie Davidson and Pastor Bobby Lynn officiating.
