Alice Peterson Hoosier, 81, of Konnarock, VA passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Mitchell County, NC on October 23, 1937, a daughter of the late Pete and Bertha Peterson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Peterson and M.L. Peterson; and two sisters, Hazel Hughes and Lena Hughes. She was a resident of Konnarock, VA and had lived in Delaware for many years before moving to Konnarock in 1993. She was a member of the Konnarock Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Alice is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Arley Hoosier; two sons, Stephen Hoosier and his wife, Beth, of Lexington, SC, and David Hoosier and his wife, Colleen, of Wilmington, DE; one granddaughter, Megan; one great granddaughter, Harmony; two sisters, Lucy Peterson and her husband, Charles, and Jewell Hoosier; two brothers, Robert Peterson and his wife, Martha, and U.G. Peterson and his wife, Phyllis; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Konnarock Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Konnarock, VA. A celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 AM Friday at the church with Pastor Frank Ricks and Elder Dan Huffman officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at Laurel Valley Cemetery in Konnarock, VA. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Konnarock Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 590 Konnarock Road, Damascus, VA 24236.
