Alan L. Roberts, 61, of the Sutherland Community, TN passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. He was born in Wooster, OH on August 8, 1959, a son of David Louis Roberts and the late Peggy Ann Hand Roberts. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by wife, Patricia Joyce Campbell Roberts.He was a resident of the Sutherland Community for the past twenty years. Alan had worked for the Damascus Waste Water Treatment Plant for several years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing the guitar.In addition to his father, he is survived by two step-sons, Jarrett Roberts of Elizabethton, TN and Jason Roberts and his wife, Emily, of Kingsport, TN; two step-grandchildren, Elliot Roberts and Landon Roberts; one brother, Steve Roberts and his wife, Mary, of Wooster, Ohio; one half-brother, David Roberts, Jr. and his wife, Michelle; one half-sister, Joy Carpenter Mackey and her husband, Brian; his aunt, Pat Bieri; his uncle, Bob Nester and his wife, Jean; and several nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the graveside at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, VA with Pastor Gary Ritchie officiating.
