Ada McGlamery

Ada E. McGlamery, age 80, of Damascus, Virginia passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004, at her home in Damascus, Virginia. She was a lifelong resident of Damascus, Virginia and was a daughter of the late Luther and Emma Coraline Neeves Woods. She was preceded in death by a special grandson, Sonny Reed. Mrs. McGlamery was a member of the Damascus Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James McGlamery; two sons, Tom McGlamery and his wife, Marie, of Abingdon, Virginia, John McGlamery and his wife, Paula, of Damascus, Virginia; one daughter, Barbara Jean Reed and her husband, Paul, of Damascus, Virginia; a special sister-in-law, Mildred Blackburn; a special niece, Charlaine Moore and her husband, Eddie, of Smithmill, Pennsylvania; nephew, Tom Rowley and his wife, Nadine, of Ramey, Pennsylvania; a special great niece, Carla Beers and her husband, Bobby, of Smithmill, Pennsylvania; grandsons, Chad and Aaron McGlamery, of Damascus, Virginia, and one granddaughter, Caitlin Quiggen, and her husband, Patrick, of Fenton, Michigan; special friends, Norma Edmiston, Roger and Judy Milhorne and Bob and Nancy Fritz, all of Damascus, Virginia; and many other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Monday, July 5, 2004, at the Damascus Church of Christ, Railroad Avenue, Damascus, Virginia with Mr. Bill Reece minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Bob Fritz, Thomas Rowley, Ken Necessary, Jim Forrester, Roger Reece and Roger Milhorne. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 230 Charwood Drive, Abingdon, Virginia 24210. The family would like to express special thanks to the hospice team of Southwest Virginia particularly Karen and Sandy. A heartfelt thanks to all who came to the house to visit, brought food, and flowers. The family is grateful for all the condolences. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 P.M.
