Robert G. "Bob" Adams Sr

Robert G. “Bob” Adams, Sr., age 79, of Damascus, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, July 17 at his residence. He was a native of Washington County, Virginia and had lived in Maryland for 42 years prior to moving back to Damascus, Virginia in 1978. He retired in 1978 and was currently working part-time for Food City. He was a member of Life Ministry Outreach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Adams; one grandson, Daniel Adams; two brothers, Austin Adams and John Adams; and one sister, Mary Longo.He is survived by his wife, Mary Henderson Adams; one daughter, Sharon Coffer of Damascus, Virginia; two sons, Robert Adams, Jr. of Bristol, Virginia and David Adams and his wife, Cheryl, of Stevensville, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Coffer, James Coffer, Victoria Coffer Smith, Ashley Adams, Rachael Adams, Zachary Adams, David Adams, Jr., and Brandon Adams; four great grandchildren, Laila, Kylee, Aaron, and Mattie; one niece, Christina Walters; two nephews, John Longo and Mark Longo.The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 20, 2014, in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Lee Moore and Rev. Danny Adams officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Virginia. Pallbearers will be John Longo, Robert Adams, Jr., David Adams, Jr., Zach Adams, Steve Smith, and Bob Walters. Honorary pallbearer will be James Coffer.
