Mary Manuel, age 92, of the Offset Community, Bristol, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was a native of Ashe County, North Carolina and had lived in the Offset Community in Sullivan County, Tennessee since 1981. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Manuel; two grandsons, Gary Smith and Matthew Glass; and six brothers and five sisters.  She is survived by four daughters, Christine Lyons, Edna Mae Ballou, and Helen Vannoy and her husband, Paul, all of Bristol, Tennessee, and Judy Manuel and her fiancé, Roger Bishop, of Abingdon, Virginia; four sons, William Bobby Manuel and his wife, Joyce, of Bristol, Tennessee, Ray Manuel and his wife, Lucy, of Meadowview, Virginia, John Manuel and his wife, Marsha, of Abingdon, Virginia, and Mark Manuel of the home; two sisters, Nokey Lumpkin of Columbia, Virginia and Bertha Lee Whitaker of Transfer, Pennsylvania; one brother, Ernest Eller and his wife, Carol, of Abingdon, Virginia; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 8, 2012 at the graveside at Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Junior Gobble officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Susie, Cassandra, Aaron and Brianna so sorry for the loss of your grandmother and great grandmother. I only met her one time but she was a very sweet lady and glad i got the chance to get to know her. I know u all will miss her but she is in a better place now. You all are in our prayers!
