Margie M. Stanley

Margie M. Stanley, age 73, of Damascus, Virginia passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia. She was a life long resident of Washington County, Virginia and a daughter of the late Martin and Carrie Widener. Margie enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Carl Stanley; two daughters, Delores Wilson and her husband, Michel, of Saltville, VA and Christy Stanley and her fiance, David Jessee, of Damascus, VA; one son, Carl Jackson Stanley of Meadowview, VA; two step-sons, David Stanley and Tony Stanley; four grandchildren, Crystal Wilson, Melissa Kate Wilson, Jonathan Stanley, and Heather Jessee; four great grandchildren, Jesse Wilson, Tristan Cleary, Kaitlyn Cleary, and Madison Swift; one sister, Maggie Thomas; two brothers, June Widener and Marvin Widener; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2017 at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 7, 2017, in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Jamie Davidson officiating. A private committal service will be at Mock Cemetery in Damascus, VA. Pallbearers will be John Jessee, Michel Wilson, Paul Stanley, Billy Stanley, Cecil Owens, and Ricky Thomas.
