Juston J. Trivett, 85, of Abingdon, Virginia passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at his residence. He was born on May 11, 1931, in Konnarock, Virginia and was a son of the late Conley and Clara Trivett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Trivett; a daughter, Nancy Trivett; four brothers, Ernest Trivett, Ray Trivett, Gene Trivett, and Milton Trivett; one sister, Wortha Killen; and a special niece, Tootsie Severt. He had lived in Northern Virginia and Macon, Georgia since 1975 and then in Abingdon, Virginia for the past two years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Juston retired from the Fruit Growers Express Railroad Company in Alexandria, Virginia and later worked and retired as a maintenance supervisor from Geico Insurance Company in Macon, Georgia. He was a mason where he was a member of the Columbia Lodge #285 in Arlington, Virginia. He was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by three brothers-in-law, Harley Sturgill and his wife, Barbara, French Sturgill, and Nick Sturgill and his wife, Eva; a special niece and nephew, Sue and Jerry McClure who cared for him during his illness and a nephew, John Severt; and several other nieces, nephews, and friends also survive him. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Garrett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 26, 2016, in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with a great nephew, Eric McClure officiating. A Masonic service will be conducted by the Liberty Hall Masonic Lodge #104 of Damascus, Virginia. The committal service and entombment will follow in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, Virginia. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Laticia Peltzer, Dr. Mark Davis, and the staff at the Cancer Center at Johnston Memorial Hospital for all their loving care.
