Charlie Hess, 66, of Meadowview, Virginia passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 in the Select Specialty Hospital at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee. He was born in Russell County, Virginia on January 17, 1950, a son of the late Roy and Beulah Hess. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Charlie Hess, Jr. and Perry Hess; a granddaughter, Kaitlynn Ray; and a sister, Eunice Burk. He had lived in Meadowview, Virginia for most of his life, was a farmer, and had attended Glade Spring Church of God. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Libby Hess; one daughter, Doris Garcia and her boyfriend, Silas McCracken, of Glade Spring, Virginia; one son, Charles Ray and his wife, Tasha, of Abingdon, Virginia; four grandchildren, Amberly Brewer, Angel Garcia, Martin Garcia, and Charles Henry Ray, Jr.; one sister, Myrtle Hawthorne; one brother, John Hess; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Glade Spring Church of God in Glade Spring, Virginia with Pastor James Walls officiating. The committal and inurnment will be at Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be sent and viewed by visiting www.garrettfuneralhome.com. Charlie gave me many memories he and libby used to bring me food and he would stop by and see if i wanted to go to church or to the auction at Glade Spring i would say no cause i didn't want tp that they had did enough for me already but he was very kind and i was thankful Thanks Charlie for your help

Charlie was a great person and he worked with us Don and Laura Quesenberry for many years..
Faithful and willing to help out on any job and tried to please and did so well

His family was here with him and the son was very small and grew up here. Know he brought much happiness to him and Libby.
Doris was here for years also and Perry until his untimely death.
